Future Imperfect - July 2024
We arrive in July and straight away, on the 1st day, we have Neptune, the boundless sea, the vastness and the unknowing, and the imaginative, sitting at 29’, the anaretic degree, ready to cast a spell. This last degree is known for bringing about a crisis, and in Pisces, is the last degree of the entire zodiac. Neptune stations here for FOUR months…a mighty long time to sit dissolving the final stage what is essentially our current dimensional programming.
1st July: Neptune Retrograde @ 29’ Pisces
This is pretty deep because this is the ‘last chance saloon’ of Pisces: the lost, disaffected and the oppressed, the psychic realms and the emotional, romantic and the creative…in the depths of spiritual transcendnce …now emphasised by the dissolving nature of Neptune, turning retrograde on 1st July. This is the lifting of the veil, for a glimpse of transparency, so we get to see beyond the delusion, on top of a surge of exaltation…we can feel the tides turning and perhaps the mystery of our times being revealed. The walls are coming down…and they definitely are when you look at Julian Assange for instance, and also the traditional political parties…
5th – 6th July: Cancer New Moon @ 14’
We are led from this dissolution of long held frequencies to the watery Cancer New Moon on the 5th / 6th July (depending on where you are in the world). The Sun and the Moon come together for this conjunction of luminaries…but right before, they both make a square to the North Node destiny point @ 11’ Aries… so really the New Moon is challenging our future progress, it questions where we are heading…and with the opening, the newness, of the Cancer New Moon, with its empathy, its caring themes, the sentimentality and softness is going to flourish despite the hard war-like, dynamic energy of where the Aries North Node is leading us. This New Moon therefore, halts the full speed ahead of patriarchal systems calling for war.
5th – 6th July: New Moon Square Aries North Node
So in the square, the Cancer New Moon’s softness can bring about a focus on what really matters within our families, what we really need to care about…and a real pull away from that war narrative. The New Moon is at @ 14’ Cancer is when both the results of the British and French general elections are going to be announced. For many of the leaders and certainly for the countries themselves, this New Moon square the nodes is a vote for real change.
5th – 6th July: Family Matters At All Costs
Whatever the outcome, there will be a surge in these Cancer values of domesticity, what matters at home, the family, who cares for the family, and any party politicians listening should take note to win over the populace on Cancer family values, family units, on supporting women, fertility and childbirth, on real women and protecting their spaces…and the Aries North Node is not going to appreciate this redirection.
5th – 6th July: New Moon Opposition To Ceres
This new Moon is at 14’ Cancer, and exactly opposite it in Capricorn is Ceres, the Corn Goddess. Ceres can sometimes bring in the bounties, the goodness of the harvest, and other times there is the famine. In this way, we have to recognise that Ceres can be slightly unpredictable, but designed to make you aware of what is good for you, what isn’t, what you are lacking, and what will help. This isn’t always pertaining to food, Ceres can mean what you feed your brain, and here in Capricorn, how you work…is your working life able to pay the bills…is it stable or are you suffering from sick office syndrome…is the company you work for profitable and making money out of ‘good soil’…not polluting the planet or using child labour in the Congo. And of course, are we giving our lives away to a hierarchical system that will never serve us.
10th July: Venus @ Anaretic Degree
On the 10th July, Venus arrives at the last degree, the anaretic degree of Cancer, and thereby making an enlivening, supportive trine to newly retrograde Neptune, stationed at the Pisces anaretic degree. Venus at this point, is working with Neptune to magnetise more of the appeal into the dissolving of the attachment to this 3D programming. Now is a good time to let go of attachments to things, situations, conditions, or emotional ‘baggage’. Letting go in the most kindly way will give you the ability to move further in the direction of your emotional comforts.
11th July: Venus Ingress Leo
Venus then steps into Leo grrrrrr…on 11th July, for a whole new ball game of sovereignty and sexual prowess. The ‘yes’ in your heart, the ‘yes’ in your pants, but of course as soon as Venus appears in early Leo, we get her opposition to Pluto…the dark Lord himself, his shadow, his stronghold on ‘the people’, of society, in the opposite sign of Aquarius. Remember Venus has just connected with Neptune and now has the super appeal (which is considerable) of Venus in Leo, and the ‘royal’ - but let’s say ‘unelected’ but now very much in 3D reality, recently ‘elected’ - heads of state. Their façade of glamour and winning speeches glosses over the facts in their promises to make them LOOK good, against the detail of whatever they might be saying. Pluto will be draining that power away from the Leo dramatic headlines, and also our sovereignty and sunlight? Has Pluto’s insistent power a reminder of a darker force of imprisonment of the aquarian society, using the Leo enthusiasm before we recognise what is at stake for us. The opposition can bring many swings between the two opposing forces so we become aware of what is at stake.
15th July: Mars Conjunct Uranus @ 26’ Taurus
Moving into the following week of 15th & 16th, we then have a recapitulation of that Uranus conjunct Jupiter that happened on 20th April, THE aspect of the year. Now, we have the dynamic strident power of Mars, coming to the electrical storm of Uranus for a super explosion. Where is 26’ Taurus in your chart that is going to experience a whole new level of enlightenment or turbo thrust to somewhere completely new. Mars and Uranus coming together in Taurus, the earth, is pure dynamite, like the blast through rock to find the next layer of treasure. Certainly this will have an effect on the financial markets, if not our own purses, both good and bad.
17th July: Mercury Into Shadow Zone @ 21’ Leo
Mercury has been racing ahead and now reaches 21’ Leo, where he steps into the shadow zone of the upcoming retrograde coming up on 6th August. Of course leonine bold statements and theatrics, that gloss over the details will be pertinent to what Mercury Retrograde wants to analyse as it starts in Virgo. Take note of where your attention is going now and make sure it is aligning with your true heart-felt values. Leo then connects to Chiron, the Wounded Healer in Aries the next day on 18th, and gives the absolute certainty of your heart sense…if it matters to you and you feel some ‘thing’, then this is your key to move forward with whatever brings the zing.
21st July: Second Capricorn Full Moon
We then get the second and therefore quite rare, Full Moon in Capricorn this year. The last one a month ago occurred at 1’ Capricorn, the beginning of the sign, and this one sits at the end, the anaretic degree of crisis. This is where Pluto is going to station for three months from early September, so we are being given a taster for the deeply intense transformational qualities that are going to occur in Capricorn themes of the global elite and powerful institutions throughout the American elections. Get your own house in order, something big is about to go down…
22nd July: Sun Ingress Leo
Leo season starts the next day, and of course, the brilliance of the Sun is going to shine beautifully, fantastically, warmly, against the pull of the darkness that is Pluto in Aquarius, also at 0 degree. Venus has already made this opposition aspect, so everyone wants this to go well, to feel the heat and the love of the royal lion time. Yet Pluto does increase the shadow of society here in Aquaria, where yes, we can feel the inter-connectedness of humanity, but now with shadowy Pluto staring us down. The rumblings of unease, the dissatisfaction, the lack of a cohesive destination or understanding about who has the power all comes into the frame Of course with Leo, we certainly do have the power, but with this opposition, a niggling feeling grows that this might not be the case, and the indignation of unfairness can turn into obsessive, angry actions.
23rd July: Mercury Ingress Virgo
As the Sun enters one end of Leo, Mercury leaves at the other…into the pure-lands of Virgo, surely this is a good time to get the exact details - ask for proof, and get a signature on that? Mercury is in the shadow zone and about to go retrograde on 5th August, so making the right connections, joining the dots between ideas and decisions might seem like a good way to operate, but just wait. Wait until new information comes to light or reframed during this retrograde which ends in @ 21’ Leo on 28th August.
30th, 31st July: The Leo Sun & Venus Trine Chiron & North Node in Aries
The combination of Venus and the Sun in Leo really are making us feel the love that is in the air, hearts are aflame with, what looks like, real potential goodness, affirmed by the blessings of Chiron and the North Node in Aries. Enjoy this by all means, but take it tantalisingly super slow – the snail is going to win.
