Love Bombing - Sept 2022
This is a month of two halves. Mars and Mercury are fractious and infuriating in the first half. But rare and exalted Libran aspects in the second half, cast a spell of love over September.
The Dance of Mercury & Mars: 1st Week Of August
Mars has been highly active in recent aspects, including last week’s Virgo New Moon. It’s as if the God Of War is alerting us all to his presence in Gemini, where he will stay for seven long months. This is a disproportionately long stay in one sign, for a planet that takes two years to circumnavigate the zodiac and we are about to thoroughly feel every essence of the exciting electrical buzz that Mars instigates when arriving in the sign of the twins. Mars doesn’t stay quiet in Gemini, with the ability to hit trigger points and cause extra frustrations. So here is Mars in a playful dance, a samba surely, with Mercury in Libra, but this is no ordinary dance, there are complications and potentially trouble. They move together in a friendly trine through the first week of September, which makes for fun, laughter and a whole lot of flirty banter – or ‘flanter’ as it is now known. But really they are clever and tricky operators and can obscure the facts and their agenda. So when Mars steps into the shadow zone of his upcoming retrograde, at 8’ Gemini on 3rd September, we must realise that there is a darker, more complicated process playing out.
Eight Degree Hot Spot
This ‘eight degree’ spot in Gemini is where he will revert right back to in January 2023, so he is about to take a very long journey of reconsideration, recapitulation and contrary confusion. Mercury is his team mate here, not just because Mercury rules Gemini, or that they are in a trine aspect together, but the planet of communication goes retrograde in Libra, also at the eight degree spot, a week later on 10th of September. Both their retrograde points end or start at eight degrees, and anyone with planets at eight degrees (or one degree either side) will be heavily involved in this dance which works its way up to a dramatic tango as the months go by. The fact that the Moon opposes Mars when he steps into the shadow zone on 3rd, gives Mars all the superpowers to highlight his raison d’être of the long journey in Gemini. To be honest, this will be a very frustrating time, with irritations and aggravations as Mars in Gemini is ‘oh so fun’, clever, witty and flirty, but oh so wilful, infuriating and randomly crazy as a box of frogs. The shadow twin of Gemini will be out in full force. People will want to speak their mind without thinking, or perhaps with things they have kept quiet with for ages. There will information overload and plenty of ‘alternative facts’ with the media having a field day which may actually be their downfall. The fun starts now, so look around you at what might start to kick off and grab some helpful tools to lessen the chance of being triggered or shocked.
Pisces Full Moon Blessings: 10th September
The whirling energies of Mercury and Mars playing in air signs will bring in the winds of change and a fresh reminder to remain open and stay alert for what is to come. The Pisces Full Moon on the same day as Mercury retrogrades, waves a sparkling magic wand over the scene. You can literally feel something stirring deep within. The Pisces Full Moon will awaken our emotional senses, which are sorely missing as Mercury and Mars stir up the air factor. The Pisces Moon will be conjunct Neptune casting a vast net of uncertainty which we must surrender to. This isn’t an emotional drain or sad sorrow which can often surround a Pisces Full Moon, but an uplifting display of the universe delivering gifts into our laps. Be amazed at how the watery Moon works with the fresh, air-sign breeze. Mary Poppins, Winds In The East: 15th – 16th September
Mary Poppins is here to put things right - she must have been a Virgo: Venus is in Virgo this Virgo season, and on 15th / 16th forces a square to Mars in a reminder for us to stand up for proper balance, organisation, and fulfilling personal obligations, no matter what else is happening. “When you change the view from where you stood, the things you view will change for good.” Venus and Mars squaring can be argumentative, but this is just the tussle to refine Mars’s energy for appropriate design, adding value and kismet for everyone’s benefit and satisfaction. The Virgo Sun is grounding this energy, adding further understanding with an opposition to Neptune and a trine to Pluto. She is playing with the big guns, so we can be assured that plans will work out.
Mid-Summer Love Potion For Equinox: 23rd September
Planet Earth comes into balance at the Equinox at 02:03 BST on 23rd September when the Sun moves into the sign of the balanced scales, Libra. At the same time Mercury Retrograde steps in front of the Sun and this tiny pea sized planet then becomes emboldened to super-size mega wattage, called a Cazimi. A Mercury Cazimi is a special day when Mercury blesses us with vital information, that is required for our continuing evolution. As this Cazimi occurs at 00’ Libra, we know that relationships and love will be in the focus on this day of immense equilibrium. Instead of a mid-summer dream, this will be equinox romantic reality. With all the activity in the air signs, make sure you speak out your desires and express them fully, in order to max out this special day.
Bewitchment Guaranteed: 25th – 29th September
Whilst this day will be like an extra Valentine’s, the New Moon in Libra that follows on 25th adds weight to any flirtations or dalliances. The Libra New Moon will kick start your desires (even if they are deluded), and allows us to tap into a creative vision of love and happiness that has a chance of working. Mercury Rx and Venus will be making a trine connection to Pluto Rx at the exact same time as the New Moon, and their earthy energies will bring about objectives that are set to last. At first these dalliances might seem preposterous, that you really have taken the love potion meant for Titania, but now the planets are blessing your choice with karmic assurances and bewitchment.

The month ends with Venus, the beauty planet of love, moving into her home sign of loving Libra on 29th for at least three weeks, blessing us with even more romance, money-making opportunities, and magical mayhem.
