The fiery command of Mars in Aries is going to keep the tsunami of passions going throughout October as it activates the whirlpool that is the Grand Water Trine.

2nd October: Solar Eclipse @ 10’ Libra Conjunct Lilith

October starts with the last eclipse in Libra, on the South Node, of the Aries/Libra axis. This means it is a final opportunity to divest old worn out and irrelevant ways of relating, or creating harmony, especially where you sacrifice yourself.  This eclipse is exactly conjunct Black Moon Lilith, and she is here to call out any times you have let your standards slip for the sake of another or not stood up for yourself, especially within relationships, or when you’ve tried too hard to maintain some façade of harmony.  Lilith wants us to stand in our own power and to know that each of us is infinitely loveable.  How’s that for taking this Libra eclipse as the signal to upgrade your romantic world and never settle again.

5th October: Mars @ 17’ Cancer Steps Into Shadow Zone

The planet Mars becomes highly active throughout October, but since the warrior God steps into the shadow zone on 5th October, of his upcoming retrograde, we have to take notice of every fiery impulse that drives us, especially where it concerns Cancer themes of the family, those we care about and our homes.  Where does 17’ Cancer land in your chart, that you should be inspired, or is that triggered, to operate at a more powerful and assertive level?

6th October: Mercury Squares Mars @ 17’

As Mars enters this shadow zone, he does not go quietly …he is kicking up a fuss all the way, and he immediately squares with Mercury in Libra on 6th, and that has to hurt.  We must be expecting some kind of outcry here, or at least a revelation of truths, or rather, of lies…the Libra endeavour to remain looking all hunkydory on the surface will be deeply frustrating as we try to get to the real deal.  Mars is part of a Grand Water Trine all month so our emotions, sensitivities, the undercurrents and manipulations, and our psychic senses will be highly charged around this time.  Things might not be said, but they will be implied…actions might not be taken, but the magnetism or the pressure to explode will be increasing.

11th / 12th October: Pluto Goes Direct @ 29’ Capricorn

Now Mars is in shadow he immediately starts applying to an incredibly antagonistic opposition with Pluto, the Dark Lord himself, who is the higher octave of Mars.  Then, on the 11th/12th Pluto goes direct…Pluto in Capricorn, at that anaretic degree, at the crisis degree of 29, turns DIRECT.   That is like turning the thumbscrews on… turning the faucet of intensity up several notches, especially around Capricorn themes of big governance, commercial interests and authority…and of course this is leading us to the American elections, and is part of the American Pluto Return.  Pluto in these final degrees, seems to be cranking up the final call for the money making wars, but will this opposition to Mars, a personal planet, so pertaining to ‘us’ the people, mean the masses won’t let grand agendas flow so easily.

17th October: Full Moon @ 24’ Aries, Cardinal Square

All eyes are on these super powers Mars and Pluto, as their opposition intensifies and the stakes get higher.  Mars is the ruler of the Aries Full Moon on 17th October…this could be explosive…this could be war.  Mars is in fact square to his own Full Moon, and therefore so is Pluto, and this super enhances the dynamic thrust of this fiery Full Moon as it creates a Cardinal Grand Square.  The Cardinals are the Alphas of the zodiac, who like to kick things off, they have the energy to ignite just about anything, and in a square, they are holding us all to ransom with their potential.  I don’t see how this could get any darker, or any more intense.  But, wait…there it is, the Moon in Aries, ruled by Mars in Shadow, is actually conjunct the fearsome Eris…

Wow.

This is the girl who started the trojan war by a simple question of a trivial nature.  Now does she get to point out the basic truths in this seething hot pot of high level irritation.  It only takes one match to start this fire.

19th – 22nd October: Libra Sun In Action

The Libra Sun is desperately trying to hold peace talks at the head of a Yod from 19th, which will focus on Libra’s best charms as a potential middle man…but when the Sun squares the dark power of Pluto from the 22nd October, it seems that even the most well-meaning efforts could combust.  Is the Libra Sun, fresh from the Solar Eclipse, powerfully soothing enough to bring harmony amongst the discord.  An effort will be made to create calm, but it seems Pluto and the Sun at the anaretic, 29’ degree may well bring about the crisis of the year.

23rd October: Sun Ingress Scorpio

Scorpio season does not make this volatile mood any easier.  The Sun moving into Scorpio joins Mercury, adding weight to the Grand Water Trine that has been in whirlpool mode all month, whipping up the emotional drama.  Feelings are at an all-time high, the outpouring of grief is off the scale, as this mega force of water has us all sensitised to each other’s plight.  What is to become of us all?

30th October: Mercury Opposes Uranus @ 25’

Mercury seems to have all the cards, as the planet of communication and ideas opposes his higher octave, Uranus for some surprising conversations.  Are we ready for what these two can describe or negotiate…they are ready to parlay, and from the depths of Scorpio, perhaps Mercury can bring forth one salient point, an important legality that turns the tide. Ancient and old, secret dealings might save the world yet… but this has all the hallmarks of a dark and devastating Halloween.
